Prashar lake is a beautiful floating island lake sandwiched between the majestic hills which becomes the trekking route to this lake. Located at a height of 2730 meters and a distance of 49 km from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh this lake is dedicated to the sage Shri Prashar Rishi who is believed to have meditated there. By the time road conditions got better, this place became one of the top tourist attractions in Himachal Pradesh.

Best Time To Visit & How To Reach Prashar Lake

Prashar Lake is located in the Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated at a distance of 49 Kilometers from the main mandi Town.

You can take the route starting from Mandi > Victoria Bridge > Head 400m to Mandi Bajaura Road and you are set to the main route. Although Prashar lake Is Visited All Around The Seasons, the best Months are as follows.

Winters - December, January (preferably Snow Trekking)

If you are fond of snow then you might visit Prashar Lake in the Months of December, January, and sometimes February also. But keep in mind that you might have to take the trekking route if you want to reach the lake. For that, you should be completely packed with things like an Umbrella, Trekking Shoes, Backpack with Raincover, etc. Don't consider a trek in the snow without these essentials and don't prefer to go in the evening, this is a thing to do in the daylight.

Summers - April, May, June (Trekking or Vehicles)

In the summers the roads are clear as there is no snow, hence vehicles can go up to the nearest point of the lake. Still, you have to Trek 100m to reach this charming Prashar lake.
